Specialist Integrated Child and Parent Trauma, Attachment and Capacity Assessment

PARENT AND CHILD SERVICE:

Specialist Integrated Child and Parent Trauma, Attachment and Capacity Assessment

A comprehensive multidisciplinary (including autism and ADHD diagnostics where appropriate) psychological assessment of the child, PLUS the parent and parent-child relationship, providing an integrated formulation to inform intervention, safeguarding and care planning.

A comprehensive child and parent clinical report is issued as part of this service.

Description

Designed for complex cases referred by Tusla, the courts and other professionals, this specialist assessment provides a comprehensive understanding of the child’s developmental, neurodevelopmental, trauma and attachment needs alongside the parent’s attachment capacity, cognitive profile (where clinically indicated), understanding of child development and capacity to meet their child’s needs.

Using EPT’s SAT (Sensory, Attachment and Trauma) Framework, the multidisciplinary team integrates evidence across child, parent and relationship assessments to develop a unified psychological formulation. Rather than considering the child or parent in isolation, the assessment evaluates the interaction between the child’s individual needs and the parent’s capacity to understand, respond to and support those needs.

A detailed clinical report is provided, including an integrated psychological formulation, evidence-informed opinions, and practical recommendations to support intervention, safeguarding, care planning and decision-making.
